SNG in Cuba for EBU

The 14th Summit of the Non Aligned Movement (NAM) took place in Cuba in September 2006 and brought together delegates from 118 nations. This triennial event also drew large numbers of international journalists who focused their attention not only on the Summit, but also on a jovial Fidel Castro recovering from stomach surgery in a secret location.

SNG provided satellite and productions facilities for the EBU located in a purpose built press centre just outside of Havana. SNG sent in a 2.2m flyaway to cover the event and no less than four engineers to operate the dish around the clock.
